Assistant Maintenance Manager (technician day shift)

Dicofoods (until recently Dicogel and Begro) is a frozen vegetable company with headquarters in Ardooie. Together with the company Westfro (also frozen vegetables) and Roger & Roger (producer of Croky potato chips, among others), they are part of a family owned company. Dicofoods and Westfro produce and commercialize frozen vegetables, vegetable mixtures, fruit, potatoes and herbs for customers in the retail, foodservice and industrial sectors. Today they jointly realize a turnover of approximately 160 million euros with 450 enthusiastic employees. During the season, the number of employees can increase significantly.

Your tasks:

As a frozen vegetable company we have all possible techniques in house: hydraulics, pneumatics, plc-controlled packaging machines, heavier mechanical installations,...

For the highly automated packaging department of our Begro branch in Ardooie, we are looking for a technician to be employed in the day shift (m/f):

• You support fellow technicians and assist them as a specialist in detecting faults, making diagnoses and solving problems quickly and permanently
• In complex technical malfunctions you will contribute your expertise, knowledge and experience
• You act as the technical contact for external technicians/suppliers, you follow up their work within your department and you consult with all parties involved
• You like challenges and like to take responsibility in projects (modification, further automation, new packaging lines, ...)
• Through analysis and improvement proposals and setting up corresponding actions, you succeed in limiting malfunctions in the future and in working on continuous optimisation
• You report to the maintenance manager

Your profile:

• You have followed a bachelor's degree in electromechanics/electricity or you are equivalent by experience
• Maintaining machines, tracing and solving problems is your thing
• You speak, read, write and understand Dutch and/or French well
• You can work independently and are stress-resistant
• You have a hands-on mentality
• You are accurate and have an eye for detail
• You have an eye for quality, hygiene, efficiency, team spirit
• You have a flexible mindset
• You have a passion for technique
